Santa Clara Turns Away Northern Colorado 87-84

Kevin Foster made 19 points and added 18 Ray Cowels lead Santa Clara past Northern Colorado 87-84 on Tuesday night.

Freshman Evan Roquemore added season best 18 points, including four free throws in the last 13 seconds, and the Broncos (4 -1), which won for the third consecutive time.

Neal Kingman scored a career-high 21 points to lead the Bears (2-2), who lost back-to-back games for the first time since February 2009.

Devon Beitzel added 20 points, Emmanuel Addo 12 and Chris Kaba 12 Bears made within 77-76 days Beitzel's 3-pointer with 2:13 left, but Roquemore sank four free throws to give the Broncos the pillow next minute.

Addo gave Northern Colorado 24-23 edge 7:31 remaining in the first half. Chris Cunningham responded to a pair of free throws and the location of proposals to stay in Santa Clara. Broncos leading 46-37 at half time.
