I Reckon The Beauty Of Golf Courses Is Really In The Eyes Of The Beholder!

As natural as a golf course might be, thanks to Mother Nature, there's always going to be a great deal of work, both landscaping and maintenance that go into keeping the greens pristine; the hazards less hazardous; the rough not too rough and the divits to a minimum.

The grass is always greener on the golf course, not just on the other side of the fence. Mother Nature's trees are allowed to grow as long as they don't interfere with the fairway.

Arimura Leads in Singapore By 2 After 2nd Round 66

Chie Arimura of Japan shot a 6-under 66 to widen her lead to two strokes over Karrie Webb in the second round of the HSBC Women’s Champions on Friday.

Arimura, ranked 19th in the world, made six birdies and an eagle and overcame bogeys on two of her first three holes to post a 10-under 134 total.

Mickelson To Play in Match Play

Mickelson, who missed the World Golf Championship event in Arizona a year ago, said last November, can sit, depending on a family holiday. But when he finished his final round at Pebble Beach on Sunday, Mickelson told the Associated Press, "I'll be there."

Lee Westwood, who took over at No. 1 in the world three months ago, will be the first head when the Match Play Championship begins Feb. 23 at Dove Mountain, north of Tucson.

Tiger Woods Takes The Lead in His Tournament

Tiger Woods opened with a 7-under 65 to take the lead in the Chevron World Challenge on Thursday, only the second time all year his name was atop the standings.


In one of his most complete series of the year, Woods missed only two greens and putts for eagle four times for a one-stroke lead over U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy.

Poulter Takes 2 Stroke Lead in Hong Kong Open

Ian Poulter shot a 6-under 64 for a two-shot lead through three rounds at the Open in Hong Kong.

The Englishman followed his second round 60 in lowering birdies on the last two holes of the third inning, pulling clear U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell and Englishman Simon Dyson.

Westwood Played Like a No. 1 But Has Not Won HSBC

Lee Westwood has done everything expected out of the No. 1 player in the world, HSBC Champions. 

Only his second tournament play-in race three months, and his first since replacing Tiger Woods at the top of world rankings, Westwood went into the weekend just one stroke behind Francesco Molinari.
