Cincy Pulls Upset; Georgetown’s Wright Breaks Hand

Cincinnati NCAA hopes are very safe after the first win of the school in one of the top 25 teams in seven years, while Georgetown's immediate future is suddenly very clear, due to a broken hand Chris Wright.

Yancy Gates scored 17 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday night, and the Bearcats held at Georgetown four field goals in the second half in a 58-46 victory over No. 11 Hoya.

Alabama A&M Defeats Southern University 64-45

Cornelius Hester scored 24 points, most of whom come from six three-pointers as Alabama A & M beat Southern University 64-45 on Monday night.

The Bulldogs (12-11, 9-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference) led 23-19 at halftime, but extended its lead to double digits in a 10-0 run led by Casey Cantey at the beginning of the second half. Cantey scored five of his 18 points during the surge, which ended with Alabama A & M ahead 40-25 with 14:40 left.

Cal Snaps Losing Streak, Stuns UCLA 76-72 in OT

Jorge Gutierrez scored 34 points, Markhuri-Frisian Sanders has 12 points and California beat UCLA 76-72 instead of overtime Sunday night to take a series of four defeats in thrilling fashion.

The Bears blew a 12-point lead and overcame great Malcolm Lee buzzer beater at the end of regulation time and finally broke his slip. Mississippi State Suffering Through Chaotic Season

Basketball season Mississippi State has been defined by fistfights NCAA lengthy suspensions television, professional issues and controversy Twitter.

Behavior has led to four starters being suspended for 30 games combined. We are no longer with the team. It's embarrassing for a proud program that won five titles in the quarterfinals of the Western Conference South Division.

Bravard Lifts Seminoles Past Virginia, 78-74

Cierra Bravard and No. 19 Florida State has its way with Virginia, which dominates the interior and on the way to win the ACC bumpy road.

Washington State Edges Oregon State 67-64

Iret Amojo Sage Romberg and scored 17 points each and Washington State erased a 10 point deficit in the first half to defeat Oregon State 67-64 on Thursday night.

Northwestern State Beats Central Arkansas 85-78

Pratt scored 23 points and Devon Baker added 20 as Northwestern State defeated Central Arkansas 85-78 on Wednesday night.

Men's basketball team from Arizona made its debut in the Top 25 Associated Press rankings for the first time since December 31 December 2007, and returned to the ESPN / USA Today poll of coaches.

New Mexico Routs TCU 71-46

Phillip McDonald hit a season-high six 3-pointers in scoring 20 points Wednesday night to help New Mexico to a 71-46 victory over TCU.

Five rounds of McDonald's long-haul came during the 7:37 stretch inserted around halftime. His baseline jumper from the dam began with 4:48 still in the first half, breaking the 19-19 tie.

Oklahoma Defeats Texas Tech 83-74

Cade Davis matched his career high with 25 points, Andrew Fitzgerald scored 20 and Oklahoma snapped a series of 12 losses against Big 12 competition Tuesday night, beating Texas Tech 83-74.

Davis missed his first four 3-point attempts, but was 4-for-4 when it came to most as the Sooners (9-9, 1-3) prevailed at a meeting in the last two teams without a conference win.

Michael Glover scored 23 points and Iona used two second half pushed against cold-shooting St. Pierre to win 70-52 Friday night.

Trant Simpson made 22 points and Alcorn State defeated Prairie View 68-66 in overtime Tuesday night, Southwestern Athletic Conference opener, both teams.

Alcorn State (0-11) overcame a halftime deficit of five points to send the game into overtime tied at 63.

Sun Devils Drop Pac-10 Opener

Joe Burton had a run of 17 points and nine rebounds to lead Oregon State to a 80-58 victory over Arizona on Thursday night in the Pac-10 open for both teams.

Jared Cunningham added 16 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Beavers (6-6), who began the season with a win for the first time since the 2004-05 season.

Ty Abbott had 18 points, all in the first half of Arizona State (7-5).

Burton two free throws with 8:08 remaining gave Oregon a 64-51 cushion and were part of a 12-3 run that put the game out of reach.

Arizona State guard Trent Lockett, the Sun Devils leading scorer 14.7 points per game, has not played because of a sprained finger on his left foot.

Vanderbilt Beats Marquette 77-76

Vanderbilt forward Jeff Taylor is not sure Darius Johnson-Odom slipped or tripped trying to drive to basket at the end of the game.

It is very, very happy mistake was not called.

Other Walker scored on a layup with 4.1 seconds left and No. 24 Vanderbilt held off Marquette 77-76 on Wednesday night in his first game since his arrival in the Top 25 this season.

Nemanja Mitrovica scored a career-high 22 points, including two clutch 3-pointers down the stretch, where Portland pulled Boise State 88-79 victory Wednesday night.


Mitrovic has completed 7 of 9 on the field and 5 of 5 from 3-point line. Luke Sikma added 18 points and Jared Stohl had 16 for the Pilots (10-3).
