It seems that the first Strikeforce event in Ohio will be two title matches at the forefront of the fight card as Marloes Coenen will defend his welterweight championship against Miesha Tate when co-principal for the night.
Tate has confirmed the battle through his personal Twitter page late Sunday night.
"It confirmed my fight is scheduled for March 5 in Columbus, OH vs Marloes Coenen for my title shot at Strikeforce 135 pounds," he wrote.
This game has been confirmed that the cards for some time, but it seems that it is done in shops show will be held in Columbus Nationwide Arena in early March.
Strikeforce officials meet MMAWeekly.com could not confirm the fight between Coenen and Tate, but it is believed that oral agreements are in place for the championship game.
Miesha Tate (11-2) got the title shot by winning a tournament Coen night, Strike Force last August.
Coenen (18-4) 135 pounds won the title after defeating previously unbeaten champion Sarah Kaufman in October, and this is his first title defense.
Ohio is a card out of the second match of the season as Rafael "Fejiao" Cavalcante make the first defense of light heavyweight championship against Dan Henderson.
