Martin’s 34 Points Lead Rockets Over Timberwolves

Markers such as Kevin Martin, to dream at night against the "defense" as the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Wolves have a hard enough time keeping the place up shooters on the perimeter. When they face a guy who can jump them on their way to the rim and get a discount of 3-pointer at a time, not a chance.

Martin had 34 points and Shane Battier added a season-high 19 lead the Houston Rockets' 129-125 victory the Timberwolves on Monday night.

"We have made interesting is what we do as a team," said Martin, who topped 30 points for the third time in five games. "There is no easy win for us, ever. We fought with him, stayed with him, struggled in a difficult stretch and came out with a win."

Luis Scola added 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Rockets, who beat a Western Conference team for the first time in their last eight attempts. Houston's 13 consecutive victories over Minnesota, tying the team record for the longest series of victory against an opponent.

Kevin Love had 24 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists, and Wes Johnson added 19 points for the Timberwolves, who lost their fourth year in a row together.

The Rockets made 14 three-point, partying on the defense of the terrible tumbling Timberwolves. Minnesota entered the night last in the NBA in points allowed, which was followed by Houston hook 100 in the first three quarters.
