Jimenez Signs With Japan’s Eagles

Former Major League pitcher Kelvin Jimenez has signed an agreement with Japan's Rakuten Eagles in Pacific League.

The team announced on Friday that the signing of 30-year-old right-hander from the Dominican Republic.

Japan’s Nakazawa Likely To Miss Asian Cup

The veteran defender Yuji Nakazawa of Japan is unlikely to play in next month's Asia Cup while recovering from left knee.

The 32-year Nakazawa Nikkansports Wednesday told the newspaper that "I do not make the national team all the problems so I think it is better not to participate.

" Japan will open their campaign in the Asia Cup, January 09 against Jordan, Qatar. Japan won the Asian Cup on three occasions.

Mondragon To Leave Cologne

Goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon has terminated its contract with Cologne and will leave the Bundesliga club at the end of the year.

Cologne, Mondragon said contract expires Dec. 31 by mutual consent. The Colombian, 39, will be available for the last Bundesliga match before the winter break, against Schalke on Saturday and the match against Duisburg German Cup next week.

Adriano Wins Italy’s Golden Bin Award For Third Time

AS Roma striker Adriano has won Italy's Golden Bin award for the third time on Monday after the worst player in Serie A again voted by the fans.

Andrew Brunette scored his second goal on a rare power play conversion and the leading trio of Minnesota combined for six points, helping the Wild end a run of five defeats with a 3-2 victory against the Phoenix Coyotes at night Thursday.

Gambhir Guides India To 9 Wicket Win Against NZ

Captain Gautam Gambhir struck a century to help India quick to fill a nine wicket victory and trigger series over New Zealand in the third one-day international on Saturday.

Mets Pitcher K-Rod Due in Court in Assault Case

A plea agreement can be reached in case of aggression against the Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez, who is accused of assaulting the father of his girlfriend at Citi Field. Rodriguez was due in court Friday.

During an appearance on October 7, said his lawyer pilot pitch worked on a plea agreement and was in classes of anger management. Queens District Attorney not say whether an agreement has been reached.

Tiger Woods Takes The Lead in His Tournament

Tiger Woods opened with a 7-under 65 to take the lead in the Chevron World Challenge on Thursday, only the second time all year his name was atop the standings.


In one of his most complete series of the year, Woods missed only two greens and putts for eagle four times for a one-stroke lead over U.S. Open champion Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy.

Zanetti Wants Solution To Strike Threat As Fans Rage
