Winnipeg Jets, Zach Bogosian Sign for 7-year Contract for $36 million


Defenseman Zach Bogosian agreed to a seven-year, $36.1-million deal with the Winnipeg Jets on Monday.
Zach Bogosian gets his wish to stay with the Winnipeg Jets.

The 23-year-old defenseman agreed to a seven-year, $36.1 million contract with the Jets on Monday, fulfilling a desire to remain with the team. The deal gives him a salary cap hit of $5.14 million per season as well as a no-trade clause, per the Winnipeg Sun's Ken Wiebe.

Texas Longhorns Part Ways With WR Cayleb Jones


Texas Longhorns sophomore wide receiver Cayleb Jones, who was charged with assault after allegedly punching a Longhorns tennis player and breaking his jaw, has elected to transfer.
Texas Longhorns sophomore wide receiver Cayleb Jones has elected to transfer.

According to the Associated Press, Jones was released by the Longhorns on Thursday five months after he allegedly punched a university tennis player, breaking his jaw in the process. Texas coach Mack Brown said he was given an unconditional release.
