Mavericks’ Late Surge Stuns Celtics

Jason Kidd made a 3-pointer 2.5 seconds remaining to complete later in the breathtaking ride in which the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Boston Celtics 101-97 in the NBA on Friday.

Celtics led 97-91, but the Mavericks scored the final 10 points. After Kevin Garnett missed a jumper from 18 feet with 15 seconds left, Mavericks tried to enter, but Dirk Nowitzki had trouble handling the ball and threw it to Kidd, who made his second 3-pointer in the Thurs

After a pause, Boston Rajon Rondo threw the ball from Garnett on the head and out of bounds on a play alley-oop. Garnett then fouled Nowitzki, who made two free throws with 2.2 seconds left. Ray Allen then missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer in Boston.

Nowitzki led Dallas with 29 points while Allen led Boston with 24.

Denver, Deron Williams, Utah has contributed to restoring the assembly redisover some form with a win in Denver.

Jazz has lost eight of 10 and had been without Williams in the last four games after a tense wrist.

Williams scored 26 points and 12 assists lavished upon his return, better than his season average of 21.9 points and 9.4 assists, earning his second All-Star look this week.
