Bayer Leverkusen's Michael Ballack Sidelined With Knee Injury

An examination showed Bayer Leverkusen star midfielder Michael Ballack will be out for several days with a knee injury.

Ballack was back on the bench of his team's 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, while knowing that the heat in about 40 minutes.

34-year-old has been aggravated an old injury to his left knee, and should begin training in the middle of the week.

"That will be able to be back on Tuesday when the team made their first training week is based on the reading process," the statement said.

Coach Jupp Heynckes had indicated he did not use the German nation, because he wanted to slowly re-establishing a team player.

Ballack was only returned to action after being sidelined in late January for a shin injury. Previously, he lost the 2010 World Cup with an ankle injury suffered during the FA Cup final played for Chelsea against Portsmouth.

Leverkusen is currently sitting in second place 42 points, three points ahead of Bayern Monaco, but 10 points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
