Lightning Beat Capitals To Lead Division

Tampa Bay goalie Dwayne Roloson kept under control again in Washington to give the Lightning a 3-0 victory in Wednesday's release of funds on the NHL's Southeast Division.

Roloson, acquired in trade with New Year's Day New York Islanders, made 23 saves for the shutout with add 1-0 overtime win over Washington in its infancy Lightning.

Dominic Moore, Sean Bergenheim and Simon Gagne scored for Tampa Bay.

Penguins 5, Canadiens 2

In Montreal, Pittsburgh scored four powerplay goals to beat Montreal and take a rare slip of three defeats.

Alex Goligoski scored two goals and an assist for the Penguins. Tyler Kennedy and Jordan Staal scored on the power play in the second period to give Pittsburgh a 3-2 lead. Goligoski, who opened the scoring in force, even in the first, and Chris Kunitz added goals in the third period power play.

PLEKANEC David Desharnais and Thomas scored for the Canadians.

Blackhawks 4, Avalanche 0

Chicago, Corey Crawford made 24 saves for his second straight shutout, helping the Colorado Chicago yet.

Dave Bolland and Fernando Pisani scored a goal and an assist each for Chicago, which won the last regular season game between the teams this season.

Troy Brouwer scored the first goal for Chicago and Jack Borderline added a goal in the third round to help the Blackhawks win their third straight.
