Mets Pitcher K-Rod Due in Court in Assault Case

A plea agreement can be reached in case of aggression against the Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez, who is accused of assaulting the father of his girlfriend at Citi Field. Rodriguez was due in court Friday.

During an appearance on October 7, said his lawyer pilot pitch worked on a plea agreement and was in classes of anger management. Queens District Attorney not say whether an agreement has been reached.

28 year old reliever has been accused of grabbing 53-year-old Carlos Pena, pulling in a tunnel near the family room at the ballpark and hit him in the face after a game Aug. 11.

Rodriguez was also charged with criminal contempt for violating a restraining order by sending his girlfriend, Daian Pena, dozens of text messages after the incident.
