Aldridge Scores 24 As Blazers Top Nuggets 86-83

Wesley Matthews out of injuries depleted the Portland Trail Blazers pull out some close victories.

Playing without leading scorer Brandon Roy and the day after learning they lost Greg Oden and season knee surgery, Matthews had his first double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Portland and met in the fourth quarter to beat the Denver Nuggets 86 -83 on Thursday night.

"What it takes to help the team win. Everything is intensified, including me," said Matthews, who is filling up with Roy.

"I love that we won. I love to win. We fought together with the team and scored a great time to win tonight.

" LaMarcus Aldridge made 24 points and 10 rebounds and Andre Miller scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half of Portland ( 8-5), who performed in Denver in 1917, -12 in the fourth quarter.

The Blazers have won two immediately after Roy was on the side of the lesion on his left knee. Roy should not return to the assembly until the November 26 game against New Orleans.
